ISBN: 0062414852
Title: The Happiness Project (Revised Edition) Pdf Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun

“An enlightening, laugh-aloud read. . . . Filled with open, honest glimpses into [Rubin’s] real life, woven together with constant doses of humor.” (Terry Hong, Christian Science Monitor)“For those who generally loathe the self-help genre, Rubin’s book is a breath of peppermint-scented air. Well-researched and sharply written. . . . Rubin takes an orderly, methodical approach to forging her own path to a happier state of mind.” (Kim Crow, Cleveland Plain Dealer)“Practical and never preachy . . . the rare self-help tome that doesn’t feel shameful to read.” (Daily Beast)“Packed with fascinating facts about the science of happiness and rich examples of how she improves her life through changes small and big The Happiness Project made me happier by just reading it.” (Amy Scribner, Bookpage) “Wonderful. . . . Rubin shows how you can be happier, starting right now, with small, actionable steps accessible to everyone.” —Julie Morgenstern, New York Times bestselling author of Organizing from the Inside OutGretchen Rubin had an epiphany one rainy afternoon in the unlikeliest of places: a city bus. “The days are long, but the years are short,” she realized. “Time is passing, and I’m not focusing enough on the things that really matter.” In that moment, she decided to dedicate a year to her happiness project. In this lively and compelling account—now updated with new material by the author—Rubin chronicles her adventures during the twelve months she spent test-driving the wisdom of the ages, current scientific research, and lessons from popular culture about how to be happier. Among other things, she found that novelty and challenge are powerful sources of happiness; that money can help buy happiness, when spent wisely; that outer order contributes to inner calm; and that the very smallest of changes can make the biggest difference.“An enlightening, laugh-aloud read.”—Christian Science MonitorThis updated edition includes:·      A new extensive interview with the author·      Secrets of Adulthood·      An excerpt from Gretchen Rubin’s new book, Better Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits—to Sleep More, Quit Sugar, Procrastinate Less, and Generally Build a Happier Life

“This book made me happy in the first five pages.” —AJ Jacobs, author of The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible

Award-winning author Gretchen Rubin is back with a bang, with The Happiness Project. The author of the bestselling 40 Ways to Look at Winston Churchill has produced a work that is “a cross between the Dalai Lama’s The Art of Happiness and Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love.” (Sonya Lyubomirsky, author of The How of Happiness: A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want) In the vein of Julie and Julia, The Happiness Project describes one person’s year-long attempt to discover what leads to true contentment. Drawing at once on cutting-edge science, classical philosophy, and real-world applicability, Rubin has written an engaging, eminently relatable chronicle of transformation.

Loved the book and found parallels to my own life ... I bought the book but ended up listening to a copy of the audiobook. Loved the book and found parallels to my own life and my own journey. While the book was more of a memoir than I thought it would be I found myself more energized to take on my own happiness project after the finishing the book.I found myself tidying my house, decluttering my clothing and generally being more kind to those I love around me. Thanks for the boost and injection of energy to chase after my own goals and projects.Make Yourself Truly Happy and Buy Another Book Self-help is a new genre before, one I hadn't needed and didn't particularly want to try. However, the buzz generated over this book captured me. I read reviews and interviews with people who said the book changed their way in some profound and meaningful way.I have one question to ask those people: How?The book is divided into 12 different chapters, one for each month of the year whereby the author dedicates that month to changing something in her life: career, marriage, children etc. Overall, it sounds like a great idea. However, the "advice" generated in the book is alarming. Her big marriage advice was to treat her husband "nicer". If you are shallow enough to not already treat your spouse nicely, I doubt your marriage will be saved by the book. As for children...apparently, the lesson is don't let their whining annoy you. As a mother of two, good luck with that and that came with the program, so suck it up. The whole book just seemed so ridiculous to me. I can't think of one piece of advice I gleaned that wouldn't be so obviously apparent for anyone with an ounce of self-reflection.What bothered me most of all about this book is the obvious attempt just to sell. The author is very clear about her purpose in writing to be just to sell books. So, in this book, she gathered all her blog entries from other readers and tacked them in. Not all the entries were relevant or interesting and it just felt like an attempt to make the book thicker. There are also lots of quotes and "studies" about happiness, more obvious attempts to fill the pages with something relevant. The title kind of got my goat, too. A year trying to fight right? Can't recall an instance where the author was really focused on anything other than her own selfish pursuits. Read Aristotle? Not a chapter in the book so I'm not sure how it made it to the title other than to make the book seem more worthy. You want some happiness? Save the money you would normally spend on this book and look elsewhere. Buy yourself a latte, a bouquet of flowers, take your spouse or boyfriend out for a hot dog, buy a stranger some balloons...Thank you Gretchen: I can become happier not only for myself, but for people around me ... Finished listening to the audio version borrowed from my local library. Bought a paper copy for my daughter then bought a kindle version for myself so I can copy/paste quotes to the cards and texts to my daughter. The book makes me understand the one star reviewers’ unhappiness and the unhappy effect they made on people around them and spread by their reviews, and I am sincerely sorry for them. It is easy to be heavy (or negative) and it is hard to be light (happy and to make people around you happy). Thank you Gretchen for all your efforts to become more agreeable, more loving (to your children, husband, friends, strangers, etc.). You showed me how to become a happy person not for the sake of myself’s happiness but also for the sake of my children, my family, my friends, and the world.

The new fourth edition of Ecology maintains its focus on providing an easy-to-read and well-organized text for instructors and students to explore the basics of ecology. This edition also continues with an increasing emphasis on enhancing student quantitative and problem-solving skills. A new Hone Your Problem-Solving Skills series has been added to the set of review questions at the end of each chapter. The questions expose students to hypothetical situations or existing data sets, and allow them to work through data analysis and interpretation to better understand ecological concepts. New for this edition, additional Analyzing Data exercises have been added to the Companion Website. These exercises enable students to enhance their essential skills sets, such as performing calculations, making graphs, designing experiments, and interpreting results. Recognizing the increasing evidence and effects of climate change on ecological systems, additional Climate Change Connections have been added. These vignettes help students appreciate the many consequences of global climate change on the distributions and functions of organisms as well as the ecosystems they depend on. Finally, the authors also revised and strengthened key pedagogical features of Ecology.

A Delicate Touch (A Stone Barrington Novel) Pdf

ISBN: B07DH8GWMS
Title: A Delicate Touch (A Stone Barrington Novel) Pdf
Stone Barrington uncovers a societal minefield in the exhilarating new adventure from #1 New York Times-bestselling author Stuart Woods.

When an old acquaintance reaches out to Stone Barrington requesting assistance, the job seems easy enough. She needs an expert in an esoteric field, someone with both the knowledge and careful dexterity to solve a puzzle. But the solution to one small problem blows the lid open on a bigger scandal going back decades, and involving numerous prominent New Yorkers who would prefer the past stay buried.

With this explosive information in-hand, Stone Barrington is caught between a rock and a hard place, his only options either to play it safe to the detriment of others, or to see justice done and risk fatal exposure. But when it comes to Stone Barrington, danger is usually just around the corner . . . so he may as well throw caution to the wind.

Always a Great Read I have read every single one of Stuart Woods's Stone Barrington novels, the Holly Barker novels, and the new ones about Teddy Fay. I am never disappointed in the, well, predictable action and adventure of this man's writing. What I love the most about Stone Barrington is that he should be arrogant, but he isn't; he just rides the waves of wealth, friendship, and great adventures. Sometimes he's not even the hero. I always pre-order Mr. Woods's books and then I am so happy when one arrives in the mail, like a gift. Please keep writing. And give us more Teddy Fay!Waste of time This was barely interesting. The storyline is not captivating and the whole book moves at a snail's pace, with rare exceptions. And the political parts continue to be a snooze, and got old many books ago. By the way, Holly Barker running for president? Ridiculous. Really disappointed. One of the worst efforts by a Woods ghost writer yet, and there have been some clunkers! Woods would never have written this drivel. For what I expect from a Stuart Woods novel compared to what I got, plus paying a ridiculously high amount for a Kindle book--Grade: FCookie Cutter Typical Stone Barrington book, cookie cutter. Stone meets woman, Stone has great sex with woman, over and over again. Someone is trying to kill Stone or the woman he is having a carnal relationship with, stir and repeat. I one time I read the entire works of OHenry, it got so i could deduce the rest of the short story and how it would end after no more than 5 pages. I can do the same with a Stone Barrington book, i just have to wait until they introduce his latest conquest.

Title: Summary Pdf The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

Book Summary: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo

It takes the average person 38.5 minutes to read 5000 words. For the price of a coffee and a time investment of roughly 2% of your day, I believe the wisdom in this book to be well worth it's value. Here's my sales pitch: The writing will not be quite up to the same standard and the formatting is also not done by a professional. If you need a story behind each point to reinforce it, then please, go and buy the original. However, if like me you aren't a fan of the 'fluff' that comes along with most books and would much rather skip to the nuggets of wisdom and actionable content in a very easily absorbed, readable way including key takeaways - then I believe this is the book for you. Save yourself time and money. I am only releasing summaries of the books that have made a true positive impact in my life. If you decide to purchase, I truly hope you enjoy and benefit from it. Amplify your knowledge in a simple, efficient manner. Take action, get your copy today!

A wonderful book to show you how to tidy your home ... A wonderful book to show you how to tidy your home without being stress, and doing it in a timely order, not to keep things with no value also, the best time of the day to start tidying your home. I will follow the steps and tidy in order as the book says. Well written.Easy and Quick This book was very accurate to the key pieces of the original book. Sometimes it can be hard to go back to a book and try to find something from it, but with the key notes at the end of each chapter, it was easy to find things. This book is good for anyone who is busy, doesn't read much, or has trouble focusing. It takes half an hour. If you don't have time for that... Well, I can't help you there.Loved it! Good summary for this book! I started off listening to the original audio book version by Marie Kondo, and was taking lots of notes...filling up half of a notebook. With this summary book, all I had to do was highlight all of the key points and takeaways on my Kindle version! Way faster and just as much information as original book...👍😊

How to Talk to Anyone Download

ISBN: B013GXDRKC
Title: How to Talk to Anyone Pdf 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships

"You'll not only break the ice, you'll melt it away with your new skills." -Larry King

"The lost art of verbal communication may be revitalized by Leil Lowndes." -Harvey McKay, author of How to Swim with the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive

What is that magic quality that makes some people instantly loved and respected? Everyone wants to be their friend (or, if single, their lover). In business, they rise swiftly to the top of the corporate ladder. What is their "Midas touch?"

What it boils down to is a more skillful way of dealing with people.

The author has spent her career teaching people how to communicate for success. In her book How to Talk to Anyone, Lowndes offers 92 easy and effective sure-fire success techniques - she takes the listener from first meeting all the way up to sophisticated techniques used by the big winners in life. In this information-packed audiobook you'll find:

  • 9 ways to make a dynamite first impression
  • 14 ways to master small talk, "big talk," and body language
  • 14 ways to walk and talk like a VIP or celebrity
  • 6 ways to sound like an insider in any crowd
  • 7 ways to establish deep subliminal rapport with anyone
  • 9 ways to feed someone's ego (and know when NOT to!)
  • 11 ways to make your phone a powerful communications tool
  • 15 ways to work a party like a politician works a room
  • 7 ways to talk with tigers and not get eaten alive

In her trademark entertaining and straight-shooting style, Leil gives the techniques catchy names so you'll remember them when you really need them, including: "Rubberneck the Room," "Be a Copyclass," "Come Hither Hands," "Bare Their Hot Button," "The Great Scorecard in the Sky," and "Play the Tombstone Game," for big success in your social life, romance, and business.

How to Talk to Anyone, which is an update of her popular book, Talking the Winner's Way (see the 5-star reviews of the latter) is based on solid research about techniques that work!

By the way, don't confuse How to Talk to Anyone with one of Leil's previous books, How to Talk to Anybody About Anything. This one is completely different!

Get past the subtle name dropping and you'll be fine Why does it seem like every time I turn the page, the author is invited to another "exclusive" dinner or party? Why is this always the tone you use to set the stage? How is this going to allow us as readers to find her relatable? Also, the subtle name dropping of "my very successful friend who works on Wall Street for a very successful investment firm who does charity work for blah blah blah" detracts from the main messages of the book: learning how to talk to people. I don't care about who you're friends with, Leil. These messages (which are quite useful! and I've employed several with great success!) are the main point of the book, and would be more effectively conveyed if the author had stopped trying to impress us with everyone she supposedly is bffs with. If you ask me, she needs to do some research on how to become more approachable/likeable, for which her current skills are bland at best.Awesome Book-Don't Miss it! What an awesome book!!! It should be a must-read for every High-school graduating person. In addition, I believe every businessman can benefit from it. I did, and I am an experienced Entrepreneur. Although I have listened to it twice, I recently ordered the book so I can write in the book , highlight wherever I desire, paperclip, etc areas that I want to go back to quickly. This is definitely one of the best most-useful books that I have ever read.Ron Hendrick, DVM , CEO, KLT Partners, LLCThis review is just for the Kindle book. It ... This review is just for the Kindle book. It was scanned in badly and has so many spelling errors in it that it's completely unreadable. It has at least one spelling error per sentence. I'm stuck with it since there's no possibility of a refund, but learn from my mistake!
